The World Bank has approved the interest-free loan to Mozambique as part of the bank’s International Development Association programme.
The loan will help Mozambique establish and manage conservation areas in its Chimanimani National Park, as well as the Great Limpopo and Lubombo Transfrontier Parks.
The project is also expected to help the Mozambican government improve regional collaboration in the management of transfrontier resources.
It will also help local communities to manage biodiversity and natural resources.
It will also create partnerships with the private sector to manage the environment and promote ecotourism in the area.
