Travellers to the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area ( KAZA TFCA) can now explore Zambia and Zimbabwe with much more ease with just one visa to travel between the two countries. It also covers people who want to enter Botswana through the Kazangula border for day trips.
The KAZA univisa was first introduced as a one-year pilot project from November 2014 to December 2015, during which time 50 000 visas were issued.
The official launch in December 2016 marks phase 2 of the project, with further phases planned to extend the univisa to include Angola, Botswana and Namibia and eventually the whole of the SADC region.
The visa may be obtained at the following ports of entry:
Zambia
Zimbabwe
The visa is valid for 30 days and allows an unlimited number of trips between the two countries during this period. The visa is neither extensible nor modifiable, but may be obtained up to three times a year.
