His Excellency Dr Bingu wa Mutharika, the President of the Republic of Malawi, has honoured Peace Parks Foundation by agreeing to become an honorary patron of the Foundation. Malawi’s Department of National Parks and Wildlife were thrilled by this, as it indicates President Wa Mutharika’s strong support for Malawi’s transfrontier conservation activities.
The Foundation has eight more honorary patrons, namely President Armando Emilio Guebuza (Mozambique), President Jose Eduardo dos Santos (Angola), His Majesty King Letsie III (Lesotho), President Thabo Mbeki (South Africa), President Festus Mogae (Botswana), His Majesty King Mswati III (Swaziland), President Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe) and President Levy Mwanawasa (Zambia).
