Peace Parks Foundation is delighted to now be the proud owner of the office building it has been occupying since February 2010. The Foundation’s Executive Committee had carefully weighed the options before giving its approval for the acquisition.
This secure investment in the Foundation’s future was made as it would cost less than a long-term lease and also provide greater security and stability. A major consideration had been the present climate of low interest rates, where an investment in property would be a sound financial move to make.
Peace Parks Foundation was able to purchase the building thanks to the tremendous support of its Club 21 members. In particular, the financial support of Club 21 member Remgro was instrumental in enabling this historic development.Mr Jannie Durand of Remgro said that the Board of Remgro had decided to renew its support of Peace Parks Foundation based on its accomplishments and that he was pleased that Remgro could in this way contribute to the Foundation’s work.
The building at number 11 Termo Road in Techno Park, Stellenbosch, is the third office base for the Foundation. Peace Parks Foundation started off in Groot Paardevlei in Somerset West and then for many years occupied a floor in Millennia Park, Stellenbosch. This is the first time, however, that the Foundation owns the premises, which brings about a tremendous sense of pride, security and satisfaction for all staff.
