Norway Grant Agreement for Nyika TFCA signed

Following on an earlier report regarding the funding secured for the Nyika TFCA involving Malawi and Zambia, the Norway Grant Agreement was signed on 16 May 2012.

The grant, valued at $4.2 million over a period of 3-4 years, will support activities across all the three project components: Institutional and Planning Framework, Sustainable Financing and Protected Area Management.

Notable among activities to be supported is the construction of research centre of excellence facility to be utilised by both Malawi and Zambia, funding of the law enforcement position, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure including airstrips and general operational support.
