Peace Parks Foundation is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr Luc Hoffmann, who passed away on 21 July 2016. Dr Hoffmann was one of the foundation’s first supporters, becoming a founding member of the Peace Parks Club in June 1997, and subsequently a Club 21 member. Dr Hoffmann was also a much-valued member of its board of directors.
Peace Parks Foundation CEO, Mr Werner Myburgh said: “Dr Luc Hoffmann was an extraordinary human being, known for his absolute commitment to conservation. He was also a very generous philanthropist and a humble man. He remained interested in the work of Peace Parks Foundation right to the end of his life. His generosity to the foundation in his personal capacity, as well as via Mava Fondation pour la Nature, will be remembered by the enormous contribution it has made to transfrontier conservation in southern Africa. We were honoured by Dr Hoffmann’s involvement and interest in our work. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.”
