On 28 May Werner Myburgh, Peace Parks Foundation CEO received R51 936.00 from Julie Fredericks, Alexander Forbes Risk Services CEO during a brief ceremony at Alexander Forbes’ offices in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Julie Fredericks explained that Alexander Forbes Risk Services sponsored 10% of the production costs of a 2008 calendar using images of world famous wildlife photographers Andy Rouse and Tracey Rich. Thereafter, “we sold 6500 copies of the calendar to our branches for them to use as gifts for clients, raising R51 936.00 in the process.”
She continued by saying: “Alexander Forbes Risk services is delighted to have been able to contribute to the work and vision of the Peace Parks Foundation by assisting in the production as well as the sales of this prestigious calendar which, in time, I am sure will become a collectors item in its own right”.
Werner Myburgh said: “We are very thankful for this donation, which will be used towards the much needed park management costs in the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation and Resource Area. This funding will be distributed on the Mozambique side of the park and will definitely contribute to wildlife conservation and the protection of Africa’s natural heritage”.
