Why Work at Peace Parks?

A career at Peace Parks offers the opportunity to contribute to conservation that makes a lasting difference. Our work spans seven countries and brings together people with diverse skills, experience and backgrounds, united by a shared sense of purpose and pride in what we achieve together.

Peace Parks was founded on an extraordinary vision shared by President Nelson Mandela, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and Dr Anton Rupert. Nearly three decades later, their belief in bringing countries and people together in conservation continues to guide our work. Every day, our teams have the privilege and responsibility of turning that vision into reality, building on a legacy that extends far beyond our own careers.

Over the years, Peace Parks has built trusted relationships with governments, communities and partners across southern Africa and internationally. We have the privilege of working alongside national leaders, conservation specialists and some of the world’s leading conservation and funding organisations, contributing to work at a scale few organisations can achieve.

Whether in the field or behind the scenes, every role contributes to protecting and restoring some of southern Africa’s most important natural landscapes. We take pride in the work we do and the responsibility we share for carrying this vision forward.

“Our story has had many protagonists sharing generously of their patronage, their wisdom and their skill to bring vigor to the peace parks dream. How the story continues is now up to you and I and Africa“

Building conservation capacity

For nearly three decades, Peace Parks has built trusted relationships with governments, communities and partners across southern Africa and internationally. We have the privilege of working alongside national leaders, conservation specialists, local communities and some of the world’s leading conservation and funding organisations. These relationships bring opportunities to contribute to work of real significance, often at a scale few organisations can achieve.

Our Workplace

Few workplaces bring together such a wide range of professions, cultures and experiences around a common goal. At Peace Parks, field teams, scientists, conservation managers and colleagues in specialist support roles work across countries and disciplines, often in very different environments.

That diversity is one of our strengths. It creates opportunities to learn from one another, share expertise and approach challenges from different perspectives. We value people who take responsibility for their work, support their colleagues and are willing to adapt as circumstances change.

Although our teams are spread across southern Africa, we share a commitment to doing our work well and creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, included and able to contribute.
