On 20 February 2014 Peace Parks Foundation Sweden, as a beneficiary of the Swedish Postcode Lottery, became the very fortunate recipient of SEK10 million. In addition to this, Peace Parks Foundation also received the cheque for SEK9 million to combat rhino poaching, to coincide with the €14.4 million from the Dutch Postcode Lottery Dream Fund, as had been announced on 5 February 2014. This brings the total amount received from the Swedish Postcode Lottery to SEK19 million, or R31.7 million.
Peace Parks Foundation CEO Mr Werner Myburgh said: “Thank you very much to the Swedish Postcode Lottery and the lottery players for this very generous and continued support of the foundation’s work. A very special thank you, too, for the terrific support to combat wildlife crime.”

More than SEK 1 billion to good causes
This year the non-profit sector received SEK1.1 billion (R1.8 billion) from the Swedish Postcode Lottery. For the eighth consecutive year, the Swedish Postcode Lottery is distributing its entire profit to its beneficiaries, consisting of non-profit organisations from Sweden and abroad. The money comes from the sales of lottery tickets as well as newly introduced online products like bingo and scratch off lottery.
“Last year we broke the SEK1 billion barrier for beneficiaries and it feels amazing to be able to increase that amount by SEK100 million this year”, said Ms Stina Götbrink, Head of Charities at the Swedish Postcode Lottery. This year five new beneficiaries were introduced, which means that the lottery now has 49 annual beneficiaries.
