Enhancing visitors' experience of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

28 May 2015

In an endeavour to make visitors’ stay more enjoyable, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park management decided to conduct induction sessions for their staff, particularly their frontline staff who deal with visitors.
Two induction sessions were completed at South Africa's Twee Rivieren and Botswana's Two Rivers, and two sessions on the Botswana side at Mabuasehube and KAA gates. The two receptionists from Nossob, who provide park-related information to visitors travelling from Nossob into the Botswana side of the park, also received training.
Thus far 32 staff members have received induction training. Management has received very positive feedback from staff, who feel they are now informed about tourism-related services and facilities on both sides of the park. The training has also empowered the frontline staff, as they visited areas of particular interest in the park, thereby gaining valuable knowledge that they can share with visitors to make their stay more memorable.

Thanks to the positive feedback, further training sessions will be conducted to enable staff to share up to date information on the tourism facilities, amenities and activities on offer in all of Kgalagadi.
