Peace Parks Foundation has been working closely with the Malawi Department of National Parks and Wildlife for the past 12 years on developing the Malawi-Zambia Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) and is therefore delighted with the patronage of President Mutharika.
CEO of Peace Parks Foundation, Werner Myburgh said: "We are very grateful to President Mutharika for bestowing this honour on the foundation. Substantive funding has been secured for the Malawi-Zambia TFCA over the past number of years and we look forward to continuing our working relationship with the partner countries on developing this TFCA."
Peace Parks Foundation has seven more honorary patrons: President José Eduardo dos Santos of Angola, President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama of Botswana, His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho, His Majesty King Mswati III of Swaziland, President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, President Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia and President Jacob Zuma of South Africa.
