Mr Wisdom Dlamini | people [© 2009 Peace Parks]Mr Wisdom Dlamini is the International Coordinator of the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation and Resource Area. Lubombo lies within the Maputaland Centre of Endemism and straddles the borders of Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland. Mr Wisdom Dlamini is an environmental scientist by profession. He has several years of experience in the areas of environmental management, conservation, geographic information systems and remote sensing.


He holds a BSc degree in Environmental Science and Physics from the University of Swaziland, a Postgraduate Diploma in Wildlife Management from the College of African Wildlife Management (Mweka) in Tanzania and an MSc in Tropical Resource Ecology from the University of Zimbabwe. He is currently completing his Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) at the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA).


Having started his career as an environmental education officer, Mr Dlamini has also been a nature reserve manager and acting Director of Parks in Swaziland. He is actively involved in various national initiatives such as the National Steering Committee on the Partnership for Development of Environmental Law in Africa and the National Biodiversity Programme Implementation Committee, of which he is a member.


In addition, he is a member of various organisations, including the International Association of Landscape Ecology (Africa Chapter); World Academy of Young Scientists; Southern African Fire Network (SAFNet); Global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC); Regional Sub-Sahara Fire Management Network (Afrifirenet); Swaziland Geospatial Information Society (SwaGIS); Swaziland Association of Quality and Standards (SAQAS); Renewable Energy Association of Swaziland (REASWA); Club 29 Commonwealth Smart Partnership (Swaziland Chapter); and the Lubombo Conservancy. Among Mr Dlamini's fields of interest are environmental science, ecology, biotechnology, geospatial information technology, remote sensing, development policy, as well as reading politics.
