Mr Lackson Mwenya | people [© 2009 Peace Parks]Mr Lackson Mwenya is the International Coordinator of both the Malawi/Zambia and the Liuwa Plains-Mussuma Transfrontier Conservation Areas. He is responsible for driving the planning, establishment and development processes of these areas.


Mr Mwenya, whose career in wildlife conservation and protected area management stretches over more than 28 years, worked as ranger and warden in Kafue National Park, Zambia's largest national park.


In 2001, he was appointed as Manager of Tourism Development at the head offices of the Zambia Wildlife Authority in Chilanga. His responsibilities included tourism development in national parks and game management areas. He also participated in the drafting of management plans for Kafue, Lusenga, Mweru Wantipa and Nsumbu National Parks.


Prior to becoming the International Coordinator in 2008, he was Manager of Operations of the Zambia Wildlife Authority.


Mr Mwenya holds a Certificate and a Diploma in Wildlife Management from the College of Wildlife Management in Tanzania, as well as an MSc Degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Kent in the UK.
